RECRUITING NEW SITES FOR PEDIATRIC TRAUMA SIMULATION STUDY

RECRUITING NEW SITES FOR PEDIATRIC TRAUMA SIMULATION STUDY
Join a multicenter pilot study for simulation-based research on pediatric traumatic brain injury management sponsored by the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) Multicenter Trials Committee.
We will provide the standardized scenario for you to incorporate into your program + pre-programmed case/checklist + training for case + IRB documentation + data management + opportunities for scholarship.
Currently 13 participating centers will start enrollment April-June 2017.
Participating sites will NOT receive funding at this time. Two members from each participating institution will have opportunity as authors on manuscript(s).  Potential for future grant collaborations.
Criteria for eligible centers:
– Have an existing simulation-based training program for trauma resuscitation that this scenario can be incorporated into.
– Have the capability to videorecord simulated resuscitations (the videos will not leave your institution)
– Have the ability to capture metrics during the simulated resuscitaiton (time to intubation, time to mannitol or 3% NS, etc…)
– Have the ability to run a standardized TBI scenario three times (with three different teams) in three months.
